Hi there! I am Miss D. My foster family took one look at my face and knew I didn’t belong in jail so they sprung me from the slammer. I have been waiting a long time and I am SO ready for my furever family!
I know basic commands, like sit, no, down and shake. I am a rather short girl and all muscle at 55 pounds. I have a beautiful deer red coat and I love to be brushed. I love being pampered and enjoy baths and pawdicures! I am not a jumper, so you won’t have to worry about me jumping over a fence or knocking someone down. I am good with kids of all sizes and know how to be gentle with little ones. I love taking car rides!!!
I am pretty good on a leash but I do get nervous when I see other dogs I don’t know. When I am scared I will growl and bark but if you take our leashes off both of us I feel safer and will eventually play with them just fine! My foster Mom says that is an area that someone will need to work on with me so I can learn not to be afraid of other dogs outside of my own home.
I did not know how to play with toys or other dogs until my foster sister taught me. She whacked me in my face with toys until I figured out I was supposed to grab them and play tug of war with her! Wow! Who knew what fun I had been missing all my life? We “mouth joust” all the time now and chase each other around the yard. I dream of a home with a fur brother of my own to play with.
Since my foster sister is in her crate beside mine, I am great in my crate now too! I go right in and look forward to the “treat of the day”…will it be a yummy chew bone? A peanut butter filled Kong? I know how to wait until you come back home so I can go outside to potty! I’m smart like that! I have never chewed on anything I wasn’t supposed to so I wish they would just leave me out! *sigh*
I love being with my family! If you are on the couch, I will be beside you. If you are in bed, I will be beside you. If you go outside, please take me too! I will kiss you EVERY chance I get to show my love if you let me! My foster parents call them “peanut butter kisses” but I’m not sure what that means. At least I don’t slobber! I am a nice kisser!
My foster parents always tell me I am the most loving and affectionate dog they have ever seen and since I have been a model prisoner I get time off for good behavior! Do you want to be on my visitation list? Let me know and I will come see you!
