AMY AND JAY - Mom & Dad to Lilly and Guenther
When we finally decided to embrace the adventure of dog ownership, back in 2003, Jay and I had no idea the kind of positive influence owning a dog would have on our life. Even though neither of us had grown up with dogs, we knew from our research and experience with different breeds that we wanted a Boxer. We started the search for our first dog and discovered a whole new world called "rescue". We adopted our first boxer, Lilly, in May from a local rescue program and during that process we met Sharon. About a year later we decided we wanted to be more involved in helping boxers in need find forever homes. To our surprise, Sharon was just in the beginning stages of creating her own boxer rescue program - Legacy Boxer Rescue. We started volunteering and fostering with her and a small group of others, all with the same mission - to save one boxer at a time. I guess the rest is history! Well, almost... in 2004 we fostered a pregnant female boxer who had six puppies. We couldn't resist holding on to one of those legacies so we adopted again and named him Guenther. Although we moved away for a few years, we never lost sight of the importance of rescue programs and the lives they save. We are happy to be back in Texas and to be part of LBR again! We hope you'll choose to join us in our quest to save this awesome, fun, lovable breed.
We know our lives would not be complete without Lilly and Guenther! They bring us so much daily laughter, joy and unconditional love. With them, we are a family.
