LISA AND JEFFREY - Mom & Dad to Amber, Zeus, John, and Sky
We became interested in boxers in 1995 through a friend. I had the pleasure of watching his boxer named Ginger when he went away on trips with his family. She was a fantastic dog, full of life and energy and was a real sweetie. So when it came time for us to get a dog, we already knew we wanted boxers. We got both Amber and Zeus when they were 7 and 1/2 weeks old. We wanted to have at least two of them at a minimum, they keep each other and us entertained and are a lot of fun to watch together. Also, they keep me busy playing with them and we love that they have such distinct personalities and energy. We got Amber and Zeus in June of 2006 and spent a lot of time training, playing, and spoiling them over the last 3 and a 1/2 years.

We finally decided that our two boxers were old enough and comfortable enough with us, the house, etc. and could handle a few other cousins/Boxers :-) coming and going. In July of 2009 we decided it was time to start down the path of fostering. We had heard about LBR through a few others as well as a neighbor that had adopted from Legacy. We did some research and decided to get involved with Legacy in order for us to give back to the boxer breed that we love so much.

Before we joined Legacy we had talked about finding another boxer to Join Amber and Zeus and we were shocked that the very first Boxer we fostered fit so well with the two of them that we decided to "foster fail" right away and add to the family :-) That is how John came to us, via LBR. We also have a current foster, so yes, we have 4 boxers in the house, and they keep us busy. We call our little group "The Boxer Gang" We love having them here; they bring so much to our lives and our household.
