Other Info :

Azara is a 3-4 yr old female that was saved from the shelter in the nick of time because she was scheduled to be put to sleep the following day. She was stressed out at the shelter and not getting along with the other dogs. I am so glad I took the chance with her, she is a total love bug. It took only a few hours here at my house before she was settled in and I noticed a sweetheart of a dog. She was a bit skinny, not bad but she is only a couple lbs shy of her goal weight. She is a little to mid sized girl.

Vet visit came back with good news, healthy and she will be available as soon as her spay is completed. The doctor did mention that it looked like she had recently been in heat so she could be coming down off the hormonal surge which could be causing some of her reactions to other dogs.

As far as we can tell now Azara will have to go to a home with no other dogs. We are working with her but she just does not like other pups, except her own daughter that was with her at the shelter. Again we could be dealing with hormones but that is a BIG if. She will not be a dog park dog and will need an owner that can redirect her on walks and work with her. So if you are not a big walking person she would be happy with chasing you around the backyard and playing with toys.

Azara loves the little kids, even babies and would be perfect in a household that has small ones. She loves running around the backyard with our toddler. As always never leave a dog unattended with a small child.

She is a very good watch dog, and has a long range. So for that reason I would not recommend her going to an apartment, even a small house/townhouse with the neighbors close next door. She has a strong bark, but barks only if she see’s or hears something. She listens well if you tell her someone is ok and then will just sniff them and walk away once they are in the house. So I would highly recommend her for a single woman or any person that wants that second pair of ears. She has a strong protective drive and within a few days took very seriously her guarding duties of this house, property and family.

Her spunky typical boxer personality is coming out more and more everyday. She behaves well, knows sit, down, and is potty trained. Dream of a dog.
