Hi!! I’m Raven. I’m a two year old boxer girl. Well the Vet says I’m two, I feel more like a puppy and I play like one too! My foster mom is this real nice lady that lets me stay in her house. The place I lived before this, I wasn’t allowed inside. There are lots of cool things in a house, like the toilet. I love watching my foster mom flush the toilet, she says she does it just for me because I look so cute watching the water swirl around. It’s so pretty!! I love my foster brother and sister. My foster mom told me that she didn’t think I had lived with other dogs before. They’re teaching me all the fun games, like Tug of War, Chase, Fetch and boxing. I had never boxed before these guys showed me how much FUN it is.

I’m still a little scared in new situations, but my foster mom takes me a lot of places with her. We went to get dog food and she takes me to PetsMart a lot. She says she’s trying to get me better socialized and I LOVE it. There are all kinds of new smells and interesting people and dogs to meet. I like just about everyone that tries to pet me except for cats. Now there’s something I’d love to chase!! My foster mom has a cat that I’d love to play with, but I keep barking at her and chasing her. It’s just TOO tempting not to! My foster mom says I’d be better off at a home without a cat.

Sometimes I get scared of things and bark at them. Like early one morning, there was this thing in the living room. And I barked and barked and barked at it. My foster mom laughed at me and told me it was a vacuum cleaner. Now I’m used to the vacuum cleaner, so I don’t bark at it anymore, but I was scared for a minute. Not that I’m a scaredy cat or anything.

My perfect home would have another boxer for me to teach me how to play and if there had to be children he or she would be over 10 years old because I’m still a little nervous around new things.

I think I’m tired now, so I’m going to take a nap in my crate. I don't like going in my crate, but once I'm in, I'm ok. By the way, my foster mom said for me to be sure that I tell you guys that I snore – a lot! I just think it builds character.

Update

Raven has really come into her own these past few weeks. Her confidence has soared and she's not afraid of new situations at all. She loves playing and her new best friend is a Black Lab who she loves to chase and be chased by. She does wonderfully with all dogs, small or large and will need to go to a home with a companion dog to keep her company. She is doing better with cats as well. It really depends on the cat's reaction to her. If the cat runs, she'll chase. If the cat ignores her, she sniffs it and is curious, but doesn't attack him. She has gained some weight and isn't that skinny little girl she was a month ago. She's absolutely beautiful and is a joy to have around. She has no behavioral issues but does need some basic obedience training.
